3.5 The composer of the film, Sérgio Ricardo, went on to make several feature films on his own in the 70s. One of which is called The Night of the Scarecrow and in my opinion is better than this apparently much more well known classic. The musical vibe in both are very, very similar, and there's similarities with regards to the themes of class struggle, poverty and exploitation, religion and cult, and masculine showdowns that won't end well. Yet that one is lot more bonkers with much crazier camera movements and easier to follow narrative. This one pans slowly and riddled with symbolism, still happy to have seen it in restored form on big screen.

巴西新浪潮代表，以寓言化的故事号召无产阶级进行战斗，前半部分写实后半部分则转向描绘曼诺埃尔的精神斗争描写，手法与内容上都很激进，不知道最后那个奔跑的长镜头是否与四百击有关。

人类没有翅膀，却有人乘风起，翱翔中俯瞰破烂的人世间，他也仅仅是飞了起来，面对这苍凉大地悲怆之境，尽管悲从中来但实在是无力回天。
